The Hello Hero Curriculum

The Hello Hero curriculum equips children to be the heroes of their own stories.
By introducing them to their powers of thought, speech, and action, children learn kindness to themselves and others. They learn to be inclusive. Resilient. They learn ti celebrate differences. That we are more than our circumstances.
Reinforced by strong home-bound resources, children are given a powerful narrative: I am strong. I am capable. I am kind. I can do hard things.

When a child’s nervous system is overwhelmed, Hartie offers something grounding to hold onto. In his superhero cape and suit, he embodies the child’s Inner Hero—transforming courage from an idea into a physical presence. Hartie helps children navigate big feelings and hard moments with confidence and care. Through touch and play, Hartie reinforces the Hero Mindset. The hero within isn’t abstract anymore. It’s real. It’s visible. And they’re holding it.

Through the Hello Hero book, Hartie becomes part of circle time, transitions, and quiet moments. He’s a reminder that real power shows up in how we treat ourselves and each other.

What They Wear Changes How They Think

Northwestern research on "enclothed cognition" proves it: clothing with symbolic meaning changes cognitive processes. When kids put on the cape, they embody courage—literally. They see themselves as heroes. They act like heroes. The cape is the daily visual reinforcement of their identity. Every time they wear it, their brain activates the hero mindset. It's not motivation. It's cognitive science. And it works.

"Play is how children make sense of the world and imagine who they can become. When we expand what’s available to them, we expand their possibilities.

This collection invites children to explore empathy, imagination, and care, the building blocks of emotional growth."

Hello Hero isn’t just a book — it’s a shift in how children see themselves and what it means to be strong. Whether in the classroom or at home, it opens up language around bravery, kindness, and emotional awareness in a way that feels empowering and deeply needed. It’s not about teaching kids to pretend to be heroes — it’s about helping them realize they already are.”
